Universal Primary Education (UPE) program is primarily focused on primary schools in the public sector which caters to majority of population in Pakistan. The main features of this programme are to collect data of out of school children of 0-7 year by carrying out household to household census at national level. Based on this enrollment campaigns are carried out and with the help of communities and volunteers, all eligible children are enrolled in the schools. With the help of teachers and volunteers dropout prevention is ensured, learning achievements are continuously monitored and teachers training is held to improve the teaching methodology. In areas where there are no schools in the radius of 1.5 kms, feeder schools are established to enroll children in preschool classes. UPE program aims at providing sustainable quality primary education to every child in Pakistan. Since 2003 the following has been achieved:
