Fund raising

Fund raising activities are carried out by PHDF for long term human development support. PHDF remained successful in mobilizing resources to fund various projects carried out by NCHD by coordinating fundraising efforts at national and international levels. These resources include:

  • Government of Pakistan
  • International Donor Agencies
  • Individual Philanthropists
  • Corporate organizations etc

Over the years various fund raising events/activities were held in Pakistan, USA, and UK. For example

    1. Telethons
    An 8-hour Live Fund Raising Telethon was held on September 14, 2003 in Jinnah Convention Center, Islamabad. The Telethon was inaugurated by the Honorable President of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf. Total funds raised were Rs 58.9 million. Second 12-hour Live Fund Raising Telethon was organized on 10th October, 2004, in which Rs 13.3 million were raised.

    2. Anarkali Galas
    Anarkali Gala events were held in US/UK in which the play ‘Anarkali’ was performed. PHDF organized this event which generated funds amounting to Rs. 94.9 million.

    3. Sojourn Pakistan
    From 19th to 25th October, a mega event “Sojourn Pakistan” was organized by NCHD. The main purpose of this event was to raise funds by bringing expatriate Pakistani and foreign investors to Pakistan. The event proved to be a success with the expatriate Pakistani community and generated Rs. 13.7 million for NCHD projects.

    4. Whirling Dervishes
    Event called ‘A Mystical Journey through Sufism’ was held on June 2, 2006 in Turkish Embassy. Rs 16.7 million were raised from this event.

    5. Islamic Art Work
    Dr. Ahmed Mustafa, the Egyptian artist of very high fame donated 45 pieces of artwork that were auctioned in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi on December 2006 which generated Rs 18.6 million. World renowned CHRISTIE’s from London conducted the auction for this event.

    6. Prague Event
    PHDF generated funds amounting to Rs. 721,190 in 2006 from the Prague Fashion Show.

    7. Fund raising for earthquake 2005, IDPs issue in 2009 and floods in 2010
